SUNDAY AUGUST 16 - SATURDAY AUGUST 22, 2026

Happy Sunday, 561.

Sundy Village keeps filling in at the west end of Atlantic Avenue, and the izakaya that opened there in June is the reason to go look. Ten courses for $78, skewers from $4, and a happy hour every single day. That is the lead this week.

Ten Courses and Soft Serve for $78 on West Atlantic

22 W Atlantic Ave, Suite 150 · Sun-Thu 4-10PM, Fri-Sat 4-11PM · Skewers from $4

Michael Schulson opened Double Knot in Sundy Village on June 17, and the format is built so you decide how expensive the night gets. Robatayaki skewers come off the grill from $4, nigiri starts at $4 for the egg omelet, and the Chef's Select runs $78 a person for ten selections plus soft serve. The cheap way in is happy hour, daily from 4 to 6, where nothing goes above $9: chicken thigh and maitake skewers at $5, short rib at $7, and every roll and handroll at $8. Book on Resy.

This Week's Highlights

Final Week · Downtown Boca

The Free Holographic Exhibit Inside the Boca Library Comes Down August 24

400 NW 2nd Ave · Mon-Thu 9AM-8PM, Fri-Sun 9AM-5PM · Free

Austin Lubetkin's Touch of Gold has been up at the Downtown Library on NW 2nd Avenue since July 20. The city describes it as built around transformation, with holographic components and bold color carrying the idea. Lubetkin, who is autistic and has synesthesia, has said his art translates sensory and emotional states into something visible. The practical version: step side to side in front of the holographic pieces, because they do one thing standing still and another when you move. No ticket, no reservation. Monday, August 24 is the last day, and the library runs to 8 PM that night.

This Saturday · Lake Worth Beach

West Palm Beach Beer Fest Takes Over Bryant Park Saturday

Bryant Park, 100 S Golfview Rd · Sat Aug 22, 6-10PM · $55 Advance

The fifth year of this one, now at Bryant Park on the water in Lake Worth Beach, 6 to 10 p.m. General admission is $55 in advance versus $65 at the gate, so buying early is the whole play. VIP is $80 and opens the gates at 4, two hours ahead of general, with a welcome drink and a souvenir cup. It is 21 and up, dog friendly, and it runs rain or shine.

Weekend Escape · Deerfield Beach

Seven Miles of Trails and a Cable Wakeboard Lake for $3 a Car

401 S Powerline Rd · Ski Rixen Tue-Fri 12-7PM, Sat-Sun 10-7PM · Passes from $35

Quiet Waters Park covers 431 acres on Powerline Road in Deerfield Beach, just over the Boca line, with seven miles of mountain bike trails and a cable park called Ski Rixen that tows riders around the lake with no boat. It has been running since 1983. The $35 two-hour Basic Pass covers ride time, helmet, vest, skis and a kneeboard, but not a wakeboard: that is $50, and the $60 advanced board is the only rental cleared for the rails. Gate is free Monday through Friday and $3 a vehicle for eight or fewer on weekends. Closed Mondays, and the weekend 10 AM to noon block is registered beginner lessons only.

Local Food Scene

Dinner Only · Pineapple Grove

The Grove Opens Five Nights a Week, and the Ravioli Is Why You Go

187 NE 2nd Ave, Delray · Tue-Sat 5:30-11PM · Reservations via Tock

Chef and sommelier Michael Haycook has run The Grove on NE 2nd Avenue in Pineapple Grove since 2012, and it only serves dinner, Tuesday through Saturday. The Ravioli du Dauphine is stuffed with comte, morel mushrooms, smoked bacon and spinach, and it is the one to lead with if it is on that night, because the menu is small and changes with the season. Google has it around 4.5 across more than 320 reviews, and the word that keeps coming up in them is hidden. Book through Tock, note the $35 per person card hold, and if you are bringing a bottle, come Wednesday, when corkage is waived.

Worth Knowing

On Our Radar

Dixie Cream Donuts is open 24 hours Friday and Saturday
The counter at 4833 Okeechobee Blvd in West Palm runs around the clock Friday and Saturday, and because Saturday never closes, a 3 AM Sunday run works too. Guava cream, key lime, maple bacon and apple fritters, more than 35 flavors plus a rotating donut of the week that is not on the menu, so ask. Monday to Thursday it is 5:30 AM to 7 PM.
La Terraza Tapas is tucked into Boca Village Square
Pan con tomate at $10.95, patatas bravas at $12.95, croquetas de jamon at $15.95 and paella Valenciana at $39.95, in a plaza on St Andrews Boulevard a few minutes from Town Center. Happy hour runs Monday through Friday, 4 to 7. Google lists Tuesday as closed while the restaurant's own site still shows Tuesday hours, so call (561) 576-3040 if that is your night.
Charm City Burger is two blocks from the Brightline station
The Deerfield Beach burger shop opened its downtown Boca location at 201 NW 1st Ave on January 23. The Good Ole Burger is $8.95 on a house blend of chuck, brisket and short rib, and nearly every sandwich can swap to grass-fed, Wagyu, turkey, veggie or chicken. Open daily from 11 AM, with 30 parking spaces out front.
