The Fresh-Mex spot known for putting real guac in every bowl cut the ribbon on its Royal Palm Beach location on Southern Blvd on September 16, National Guacamole Day, no less. Worth the Climb

105 Steps Up the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse

500 Captain Armour's Way, Jupiter · Tue-Sun 10-4

The historic lighthouse above the Jupiter Inlet is open for climbs Tuesday through Sunday, all 105 steps of it. The view from the top takes in the inlet, the Intracoastal and a long stretch of Atlantic. Tickets are $15 for adults, $8 for kids 6 to 18, free under 5, and kids need to be 48 inches to make the climb. Guided tours run at noon and 1 pm, Tuesday through Friday.

The Gringo bakes its Argentinian-style empanadas to order in a bespoke Italian oven on SE 5th Ave in Delray. Nothing sits under a heat lamp. Weekdays it's a 10-to-4 lunch move, but Friday and Saturday nights it becomes Empanadas After Dark: doors open till 10, live music, drink specials. Go on a Friday. A free three-quarter-mile boardwalk over 50 acres of wetlands at 13270 Jog Rd in Delray Beach. 178 bird species have been logged here, plus gators, turtles and the occasional raccoon ambush. Open 6 am to 7 pm daily. Go at sunrise, bring the camera.
The Blue Anchor
An actual 1840s London pub, dismantled near Fleet Street and shipped over piece by piece, pouring imperial pints at 804 E Atlantic Ave in Delray since 1996. Premier League and Champions League on the screens, happy hour seven days a week, and a resident ghost named Bertha. If the match is on, they're open.
Casting Caribbean Resto
Oxtail, curry goat, chicken stew and plantains at 209 SE 2nd Ave in Delray, open 9 am to 9:30 pm daily for dine-in or takeout. The kind of comfort plates that don't need a hook beyond the smell coming off them. Price check: $$.
