Happy Sunday, Boca. It's Fourth of July week. 🇺🇸
Fireworks shows stacked across the week. A new restaurant at Boca Center worth knowing about. A sea turtle hospital you can walk through for free. Fourth of July corn straight from the farm. And a gooey dessert the whole 561 keeps talking about. It's all inside.
The Uruguayan Market and Restaurant That Took Over the Old Joseph's at Boca Center
Narbona is a market-and-restaurant brand out of Uruguay that opened in the old Joseph's Classic Market space at Boca Center, off Military Trail. One side is a grocery: house-made pasta, private-label honey and herbs, a fresh fish and meat counter, and a wall of Narbona Wine Lodge bottles. The other side is a full kitchen. Mornings lean brunch, with acai bowls, avocado toast, and pancakes; lunch and dinner run to empanadas, cheese boards, brick-oven pizza, and entrees like grilled branzino and a New York strip. Go for breakfast, then walk the market on your way out.

Loggerhead Marinelife Center runs an actual sea turtle hospital you can walk through, with recovering turtles in outdoor tanks and an exhibit hall built for kids. Bedner's Farm Fresh Market is a working farm with a market attached, about 20 minutes west of Boca on Lee Road. It's an easy move for a Fourth of July cookout: local corn, tomatoes, and produce, plus a bakery, a deli counter, and homemade ice cream. Note that the U-pick fields are out of season in summer and return in the fall, so a July visit is all market, bakery, and weekend petting zoo. Open daily 9am to 6pm.
