A coffee shop that stays open until 1 a.m. on weekends is not really a coffee shop. Urban Roast, now open at 201 Datura Street in downtown West Palm, is the D.C. concept built on that exact idea: espresso bar from 9 a.m., cocktail lounge after dark, one room that refuses to pick a lane.

Downtown WPB has plenty of morning coffee and plenty of bars. What it has not had is the in-between room, and that is the gap this one fills.
