@mikeiseating, a South Florida food account with 130K followers, dropped a reel calling Thick & Thin “the most requested pizza in Boca.” It got 3,974 likes. Nobody pushed back. The restaurant has been at 23062 Sandalfoot Plaza Drive since 1985, family-owned since day one, and the pizza has not changed in a way that needed fixing.
Forty-one years is a long time to stay in the same location, serve the same food, and keep a full dining room. In a city where restaurants cycle faster than the season, Thick & Thin is an institution.
What You’re Getting Into
The name tells you exactly what’s on offer - and both styles deliver. The thin crust is their signature: crispy, light, and built the right way. Order it extra sauce, cooked well done. The thick is a 16” x 16” Sicilian square with savory tomato sauce, mozzarella, and a crust that’s chewy in the middle and crispy at the edges. Then there’s the Grandma’s Pizza - a thinner, airier square with sweet tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, and basil. First-timers who try the Grandma’s rarely order anything else the second time.
The menu goes well beyond pizza: Eggplant Rollatini, Veal Parmigiana, pasta, calzones and stromboli. The garlic rolls are a mandatory add-on - order them before the pizza arrives or you’ll eat them while waiting and order more anyway.
The room is casual and comfortable, no pretense, no dress code. Booths and tables, food arriving fast. For a first visit: Grandma’s Pizza, garlic rolls, one order of Eggplant Rollatini to share. That’s the move.
The Insider Move
They’re closed Monday, plan around it. Tuesday through Thursday is the easiest time to get in without a wait. Friday and Saturday they’re open until 10pm, which makes it a solid late-night option. Weekday lunch specials run Tuesday through Friday - two slices and a drink for $5 to $6. That deal does not apply on weekends. No reservations needed; walk right in. Order more garlic rolls than you think you need.
What People Are Saying
321 Yelp reviews, a consistent four-star rating. The @mikeiseating reel with 3,974 likes is the most recent viral moment, and the comments are full of locals saying “I’ve been going here my whole life.” A restaurant that survives 41 years in the same South Florida strip mall doesn’t do it on marketing. It does it on food.
A Little Background
Family-owned since 1985. Same location, same kitchen commitment. The Lunetto family - Sicilian roots, recipes to match - built this place before most of Boca’s current dining scene existed, and they’ve run it ever since.
