SUNDAY OCTOBER 18 - SATURDAY OCTOBER 24, 2026
Happy Sunday, 561.
This week has a 94-acre beach park you enter through a tunnel, a Delray garden where kids pick cotton, three haunted houses with two weekends left to run, and a West Boca bistro putting short-rib burgers and warm hummus on the same menu. And this is the last issue before kickoff: FAU hosts Rice Saturday, and your 40% off tickets expire at game time.

The 94-Acre Beach Park You Enter Through a Tunnel
Spanish River Park runs 94.4 acres between the Intracoastal and the ocean, and three tunnels carry you under A1A from the shaded park side to the sand. Ten rentable pavilions, 124 grills, a kayak launch, walking trails, a playground and 816 parking spots, open 8am to sunset every day. Park on the west side, grill lunch under the sea grapes, and take the tunnel over when you want the beach. Heads up: the gatehouse stopped taking cash this month, so bring a card.
Plan Your Visit →Three Haunted Houses Have Two Weekends Left on Southern Blvd
Fright Nights runs three haunted houses and two scare zones at the Fairgrounds, 6 PM to 11, and after this weekend there is exactly one left (Oct 29-30). General admission is $48.50, parking $10, and the houses are new builds this year. Go Thursday or Friday; Saturday is the crowd night.
Dates and Tickets →The County's Botanical Garden Lets Kids Under 6 In Free
Mounts Botanical Garden runs Tuesday to Sunday, 9am to 4 with last entry at 3, and October is when walking it stops being a sweat test. Adults are $20, ages 6 to 17 are $13, under 6 and members walk in free. Go Saturday at 9 when the light is low and the tour groups aren't there yet.
Plan Your Visit →Delray Has a Garden Where Kids Pick the Cotton Themselves
The Delray Beach Children's Garden is a volunteer-run living classroom two blocks off Atlantic: a giant sandbox, herbs grown to be smelled, cotton grown to be picked, and gardening and environmental science programs for the kids doing the digging. It only opens three windows a week, Thursday 10 to 12 and Saturday and Sunday 10 to 1, so Sunday morning is your shot.

Six People Per Class, and a Pilates Studio Inside a Pickleball Club
Pilates at The Palms caps every equipment class at six people, on Balanced Body reformers, towers and Wunda Chairs, so the instructor is correcting your form instead of leading a room. Director Danielle Hayduk has taught fitness in Boca for more than a decade, and every Pilates instructor on her team is comprehensively certified.
The studio sits in central Boca inside The Palms Indoor Pickleball, but you don't need a paddle or a Palms membership to book. Beyond Pilates, there's Mat Sculpt, strength classes with Bala props, and true Barre. If you love Sculpt, try Barre. It did it first.
Code 561SCOOP takes an extra $10 off the intro 3-packs, which are already their lowest price:
3 Group Fitness classes: $50
3 Pilates Apparatus classes: $70
Pick your 3-pack on their booking page and enter 561SCOOP at checkout.
Short-Rib Burgers and Warm Hummus Share a Menu on Glades Rd
Dvash is a cozy family-run bistro in a West Boca strip mall doing two things most rooms pick between: a burger list built on a short rib and brisket blend, brie and caramelized onions on brioche, and a hummus list served warm with pitas and pickles. Shiitake dumplings and lamb kabobs fill out the menu, there's a real wine list, and Monday is the only day they rest. Order the Chef's Burger and the portobello hummus and split both.
Reserve →Phở Every Day of the Week, a Mile West on Glades
Pho is what Phở Boca is known for, and the Combination bowl proves why: meatballs, rare beef and brisket in one beef broth over rice noodles. Banh mi, rice plates, vermicelli bowls and wok dishes round out the menu, open 11:30 to 8:30 every day. First cool evening of the fall, this is the move.
