Charlie Tsakrios spent decades helping launch some of the most recognized names in hospitality. Avra, Milos, Starwood Hotels, Tao Group and then he came to Delray Beach and built something for himself.

Selini Coastal Mediterranean opened on Atlantic Avenue in late 2025 with a 120-seat room, stone walls, soft arches, terra cotta vessels, and olive trees braided with bougainvillea overhead. If you have been waiting for a genuinely serious Greek restaurant in South Florida, the wait is over.

Chef Michael Hernandez trained under Michelin-starred Daniel Boulud and brought that precision to a kitchen built around the best sourcing available.

High-quality imported ingredients and fish that arrived that morning. Everything is made fresh daily. That shows up in the food in a way that is hard to fake.

What You're Getting Into

Start with the Mini Gyros. These are shareable, street food-inspired bites that hit the table first and disappear faster than you expect. From there, the charred octopus is the move - deeply caramelized on the outside, tender through, plated with real confidence. The charcoal-grilled whole fish is the anchor of the menu and the reason to come back a second time even if everything else was perfect on the first visit.

For something richer, the lobster pasta with cherry tomatoes and herbs is the kind of dish you think about on the drive home. The cocktail program was built with veterans of the World's 50 Best Bars, which means the drinks are considered rather than routine. The Greek wine list is curated and worth exploring with your server, who will actually know what is on it.

The room is intimate despite seating 120 people. Proportions are right and lighting is warm. Be aware that the space runs loud on busy nights - not a problem if you are with a group that feeds off the energy, but worth knowing if you are planning something quiet.

The Insider Move

Selini is open Wednesday through Sunday starting at 5pm. They are closed Monday and Tuesday, so check before you go. Reservations are strongly recommended, especially Thursday through Saturday, when the room fills quickly. Book by calling (561) 808-7711, emailing [email protected], or reserving directly through OpenTable on their website at selinirestaurant.com. Atlantic Avenue has street parking and the municipal garage at SE 1st Ave is a short walk. From Boca, plan about 20 minutes on a clear night.

What People Are Saying

Selini opened in late 2025 and has already become a favorite on Atlantic Avenue. Guests are calling it a "wonderful experience" with "fresh and delicious" food and standout dishes like the beet salad, branzino, and lamb gyros. The staff is getting consistent praise for being friendly and attentive, and the cocktails keep coming up in reviews as something worth ordering alongside your meal.

A Little Background

Owner Charlie Tsakrios led openings at Avra, Milos, Starwood Hotels, and Tao Group before bringing Selini to Delray Beach as his own concept. Chef Hernandez trained under Michelin-starred Daniel Boulud. That combination of operational pedigree and culinary training in a 120-seat space on Atlantic Avenue is why this restaurant is worth booking sooner rather than later.
