The Delray Beach Twilight Concert Series is running again this spring, and this Friday night it's an Earth, Wind & Fire tribute show at Old School Square. Free admission, outdoors, no ticket required. Just show up.
The Show
The Twilight Concert Series has been one of South Florida's most consistent free music events for years. This Friday's show is an Earth, Wind & Fire tribute - which means Boogie Wonderland, September, Shining Star, Let's Groove, and the full catalog, live, under the sky in downtown Delray Beach.
If you've never seen an EWF tribute live, it's one of those catalogs that sounds better than you remember. The songs are bigger than you realize until they're actually being played in front of you.
How to Make the Most of the Night
The formula that works: Park on a side street off Atlantic Ave - metered spots fill up fast near Old School Square but you can usually find something within two blocks if you come in from the west side. Walk Atlantic Ave, grab dinner first - there are enough options along the strip that you can eat well at any budget - then head to the lawn by 7:30pm.
The show starts at 8pm. The lawn fills up before that. Getting there early means getting a good spot, and this is very much a bring-your-blanket kind of concert.
