Four picks for the weekend of June 12-13. A Boca breakfast spot that has been in the same country cabin since 1985, a French bakery tucked into the TJ Maxx plaza on Glades, a free wetlands boardwalk in Delray that is popular with birders, and Alan Jackson's first-ever country festival on the West Palm waterfront Friday and Saturday. All within 35 minutes of Boca.
Saturday Morning: Tom Sawyer's Restaurant
Tom Sawyer's has been serving breakfast from the same Boca spot since 1985, in a country-cabin setting, and there is often a line out front on a Saturday morning. The Breakfast in a Pot is a popular order, a whole pot of a hot, hearty breakfast. The pastries are baked in house each morning, so it is worth getting there early. It is first come, first served, with no reservations and no call-ahead list.

Saturday Snack: LuBlu Bakery & Cafe
LuBlu is a French bakery tucked into the TJ Maxx plaza on Glades in west Boca. The menu leans classic French: almond croissants, Nutella crepes, brioche French toast, avocado toast, French onion soup, and sandwiches on croissants or baguettes baked in house. It is a low-key spot for a mid-morning stop. You will find it at 8903 Glades Rd, open daily from 8am.

Saturday or Sunday: Wakodahatchee Wetlands
Twenty minutes from Boca on Jog Road in Delray Beach, Wakodahatchee Wetlands is a 3/4-mile boardwalk over man-made wetlands built on a former water treatment site. It is part of the Great Florida Birding Trail, and herons, egrets, wood storks, anhingas, turtles, and alligators are common sightings. It tends to get crowded by midday on weekends, so mornings are the better bet, and note that no pets are allowed on the boardwalk. Admission and parking are both free.
