One of Palm Beach's most celebrated chefs is running a walk-up sandwich window on South County Road and charging $17. Most people driving past have no idea it's there.

Buccan Sandwich Shop is the daytime project of Chef Clay Conley - James Beard-nominated, executive chef of Buccan, one of the most acclaimed restaurants in Palm Beach. The sandwich shop is the opposite of Buccan in every way: casual, counter-service, closes at 3:30pm. Same kitchen instincts, a fraction of the price.

What to Order

Prime NY strip with cheese sauce: $17.75 - This is the one. Thinly sliced prime beef, proper cheese sauce, built by a chef who knows exactly what he's doing. Start here.

Pork belly sandwich: $17 - For those who want something unexpected. Slow-cooked pork belly, constructed with the same care as everything else on the menu.

Chocolate chip cookie: $5 - This is not optional. A $5 chocolate chip cookie from a James Beard chef is one of the better decisions you can make at lunchtime. Get it.

The Catch

Closes at 3:30pm. This is strictly a lunch operation, and the cutoff is firm. Plan accordingly. The good news is it's open daily, so there's no need to save it for a specific day - just get there before mid-afternoon.
