The lawn at Mizner Park hits different on a Friday night in summer. Chairs and blankets spread across the grass, the stage lights up just as the sky goes pink, and by the time the first chord lands, you remember why you live here. The City of Boca Raton's Summer in the City free concert series is back for 2026 - seven free shows at Mizner Park Amphitheater, running select Fridays (and one Sunday) from June 12 through August 7. And this year's lineup might be the best one yet.

The opener alone is worth putting on your calendar. Turnstiles - a tribute to Billy Joel - kicks off the series on Friday, June 12. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8.

The Full Summer Lineup

Here's every show in the series, all free and open to the public:

🎹 Friday, June 12 – Turnstiles: A Tribute to Billy Joel

🎼 Sunday, June 21 – FAU Summer Concert Band
Doors 4:00 PM · Concert 5:00 PM
🦅 Friday, June 26 – The Long Run: A Tribute to the Eagles
Doors 7:00 PM · Concert 8:00 PM
🌿 Friday, July 17 – Yvad & The Legal Roots: A Tribute to Bob Marley

✌️ Friday, July 31 – Peace of Woodstock Band
Doors 7:00 PM · Concert 8:00 PM
🎸 Friday, August 76th Annual Battle of the Bands
Doors 6:00 PM · Show 7:00 PM

All shows are free. Most doors open at 7 p.m. with concerts at 8 p.m. - with a few exceptions: the FAU Summer Concert Band on June 21 starts earlier (doors 4 p.m., show 5 p.m.), and the August 7 Battle of the Bands opens at 6 p.m. with the show at 7. This is the City of Boca Raton running these shows as part of Boca's Centennial celebration, which means the production quality is the real deal, not a parking lot stage.

How to Do This Right

Arrive when doors open - not when the show starts. The lawn fills up fast, and the good spots in the middle section go within the first 30 minutes. Outside food and drinks are not allowed inside - but you can rent a chair on-site for $5. Bring a blanket, claim your patch of lawn, and let the night happen.

For parking, free options are available at City Hall at 201 W Palmetto Park Road and the Boca Raton Library at 400 SW 2nd Ave - both are a short walk to the amphitheater. Paid preferred parking is also available in the lot adjacent to the venue on concert nights. If you can, walk or bike from somewhere nearby - the Mizner Park area has plenty of dinner spots to hit beforehand, and it makes the whole evening feel like an actual night out.

What People Are Saying

This series has been a summer staple in Boca for years, and it sells the lawn out reliably. The Billy Joel and Eagles nights tend to draw the biggest crowds - these are the shows people bring their parents to, plan group dinners around, and treat as the unofficial start-of-summer moment in downtown Boca. If you went to a previous year's show, you already know the vibe. If this is your first time, go early, claim your patch of lawn, and let it happen.
